IIM Sirmaur Begins PG Course On Leadership In Smart Manufacturing

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur has launched a new postgraduate programme for executives, focusing on Leadership in Smart Manufacturing (LSM). This one-year, full-time residential course is set to begin in January 2025. Developed in collaboration with RWTH Aachen University in Germany, the programme aims to equip senior professionals with the skills needed for leadership roles in the Industry 4.0 era.

The application process for this advanced programme is currently open. The curriculum integrates academic coursework with practical industry insights, ensuring participants gain a thorough understanding of cutting-edge technologies and leadership practices in smart manufacturing.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Background: Applicants must hold a BTech degree with at least 60 per cent marks or an equivalent CGPA from recognised universities or IITs.
  • Experience: Candidates should be at least 25 years old and possess around five years of shop floor experience in manufacturing or related fields.
  • Test Scores: A valid GMAT, GRE, or CAT score taken within the last five years is required, with minimum scores of 500 in GMAT, 300 in GRE, or 50 percentile overall in CAT.
  • Alternative Testing: For those without these scores, IIM Sirmaur will conduct an aptitude test covering basic engineering questions and quantitative ability.

An application fee of Rs 2,000 is required during submission. The admission test is scheduled for August 24, 2024, followed by interviews from August 31 to September 1, 2024.

Programme Structure

This executive programme combines managerial expertise from IIM Sirmaur with technological knowledge from RWTH Aachen University. Participants will have the opportunity to attend a module at RWTH Aachen University, gaining exposure to advanced manufacturing facilities and best practices in Germany. The curriculum covers automation, digital transformation, AI, IoT, and sustainable manufacturing practices.
