IIM Lucknow Launches Full-Time MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation

IIM Lucknow: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has become the first IIM to launch a full-time 16-month MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The programme aims to teach students entrepreneurial competencies so that they can become successful entrepreneurs and innovators. The last date to apply for admission in the MBA programme is June 30, and the course will start from August onwards.

According to Archana Shukla, the director of IIM Lucknow, "The MBA - E & I program leverages and strengthens the ecosystem." The students will be mentored by over 500 IIM Lucknow alumni who are themselves entrepreneurs. The programme is based on the ideas of the government's "Make in India" campaign and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

To be eligible for the MBA programme, candidates must have a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in any discipline. They must have a valid Common Admission Test (CAT) score or a score for GMAT taking after January 1, 2021. The fee for the new MBA course is Rs 14,30,000.

The programme curriculum will include 50% content on philosophy and pedagogy of entrepreneurial knowledge and skills and 50% from industry inputs, immersion, and mentorship. It will be a multidisciplinary course, and students will receive guidance in preparing business plans, working with venture capitalists to refine them, fund accumulation, and preparing for launch.
