IIM Indore to conduct CAT 2014, TCS to administrate the test

The Common Admissions Test (CAT) for the year 2014 is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore for admissions to management programmes for the year 2014-15.

This year, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will take the responsibility in conducting the CAT test administration for IIMs.

The CAT 2014 notification will be announced in the month of September 2014 by IIM Indore.

In 2013, IIM Indore was the convener of CAT. CAT test was administrated by Prometric.

Most of the students who had appeared for the CAT 2013 examination claimed that there are discrepancies in CAT 2013 results. Disgruntled test-takers are seeking a re-evaluation of CAT 2013 results.

At present, few cases are going on concurrently in various Indian courts regarding the disclosure of raw scores and about the normalization process of evaluation of CAT examinations, as requested by the candidates. RTIs have also been filed. The courts have sent notices to all parties concerned to respond to student queries within specific time frames.

The CAT is an all India entrance test for admission to the IIM's and other reputed institutions across the country. The new entries in 2011 included six IIT's, Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University and Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.

The test is designed to evaluate the management aptitude of a student by testing his analytical and communication skills. It demands up to three to four months of intense preparation. The test is open for all graduates.
