The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has introduced an exciting new initiative to equip MBA and BBA students, along with working professionals and executives, with essential knowledge on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices in business. The 12-week program titled 'From Theory to Practice: Implementing ESG and Sustainability in Business' will commence on January 24, 2025, and is being delivered on the Swayam platform, a Government of India initiative aimed at providing free access to quality education.

This program aims to build an in-depth understanding of ESG concepts and their implementation in business practices, which are vital in today's corporate world. The curriculum includes a mix of video lectures, self-assessment quizzes, and peer discussions, allowing students to learn at their own pace while engaging with the content interactively.
Although the course is free, students have the option to register for an examination at a nominal fee to earn a certificate upon successful completion. This certificate is a valuable credential for those looking to enhance their career in the growing field of sustainability.
Dr. Aditya Gupta, the Chief Operating Officer of the TCI-IIMB Supply Chain Sustainability Lab, will serve as the primary instructor for this course. With over a decade of experience working with leading companies like Tata Group, TVS Group, Jindal Group, and Virgin Mobile, Dr. Gupta brings a wealth of practical knowledge and real-world experience to the program. His expertise in corporate sustainability and ESG will provide students with valuable insights into the practical applications of these principles.
The course's flexible structure makes it easy for participants to learn at their own pace, with a structured timeline for completion. Once the program is finished, participants can take an examination in May 2025. A successful completion not only ensures a certificate but also positions participants to contribute meaningfully to ESG initiatives in their organizations.
