The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for submitting applications for the July 2024 admission cycle to September 10. This extension applies to all programmes offered in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes, with the exception of semester-based and certificate programmes. Prospective students can submit their applications through the official IGNOU website.

For those seeking fresh admissions, IGNOU offers a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programmes. Students can apply via the designated ODL and online portals. Additionally, existing students who need to re-register for the upcoming semester or academic year can do so through the re-registration portal, now also extended to September 10.
Key Requirements for IGNOU 2024 Admission
Before applying for fresh admissions, candidates should ensure they have the necessary documents prepared. These include:
- A scanned passport-size photograph (less than 100 KB)
- A scanned signature (less than 100 KB)
- Scanned copies of educational qualifications
- Experience certificates (if applicable)
- A scanned copy of the category certificate for SC, ST, or OBC candidates
All scanned documents should not exceed 200 KB in size and must be scanned from the original documents following IGNOU's guidelines.
Along with extending the deadline for fresh admissions, IGNOU has also extended the re-registration deadline to September 10. This applies to all programmes offered in both ODL and online modes. Students interested in applying for Government of India scholarships can do so through the national scholarship portal once their admission is confirmed. The scholarship portal can be accessed at scholarships.gov.in.
