IGNOU Extends Admission and Re-Registration Deadline for July 2024 Session

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for fresh admissions and re-registration for the July 2024 session to August 31. This extension applies to all courses offered in both Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes, providing students with additional time to complete their applications.

IGNOU Extends Admission and Re-Registration

Originally set for August 14, the deadline has now been pushed to the end of the month. This change aims to give students more time to gather necessary documents and apply without rushing. Interested candidates can apply through the designated portals for ODL and online courses.

Application Process

Students wishing to enroll in undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate programmes can submit their applications via the official IGNOU websites:

  • For online courses: ignouiop.samarth.edu.in
  • For ODL courses: ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in

Important Documents Required

Applicants must have specific documents ready when applying:

  • A scanned photograph (less than 100 KB)
  • A scanned signature (less than 100 KB)
  • A scanned copy of relevant educational qualifications (less than 200 KB)
  • If applicable, a scanned copy of an experience certificate and category certificate (SC/ST/OBC)

Re-registration Details

Existing students who need to re-register for the next semester or academic year can do so through the re-registration portal. This step is essential to ensure uninterrupted studies. The re-registration process is straightforward and can be completed online.

The official IGNOU Twitter account announced this extension on August 15, stating: "The extension of the last date for July 2024 Fresh Admission & July 2024 Re-registration till 31st August 2024 in respect of all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode."

This extension offers a valuable opportunity for prospective students who may have missed the earlier deadline, ensuring they have ample time to gather necessary documents and complete their applications accurately. IGNOU's decision to extend the deadline reflects its commitment to providing flexible learning opportunities and supporting diverse educational needs across India.
