To qualify, candidates must achieve an aggregate score of 50% and a minimum of 40% in each subject. Notably, there is no negative marking. It is essential to note that calculators, pens/pencils, and paper/notebooks are prohibited during the exam.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) recognizes the CS qualification as equivalent to a postgraduate degree. Eligible candidates include those who have completed or are in the final year of their Class 12 exams.

Certain candidates are exempt from appearing for CSEET, including those who have passed the foundation level of ICSI, final passed candidates from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or Institute of Cost Accountants of India, graduates with a minimum of 50% marks, and postgraduates. These individuals can directly enroll in the CS Executive Programme.

Exam Schedule

ICSI conducts the CSEET four times annually: in January, May, July, and November. The exam's rigorous evaluation process ensures that candidates possess the requisite knowledge and skills essential for the Company Secretaries profession. Offering the exam in a remote proctored format enhances accessibility for candidates nationwide, reflecting ICSI's commitment to inclusivity and convenience.
