Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program Supports 783 Underprivileged Students Across India

The Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program, funded by Hyundai Motor India Foundation, supports 783 underprivileged students with INR 3.38 crore, aiming to nurture future leaders and innovators in India. The initiative collaborates with BharatCares to enhance educational opportunities and empower deserving youth.

In August 2024, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) took a significant step towards supporting underprivileged students across India through its Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program. With a generous fund of INR 3.38 crore, the program aims to assist 783 deserving students from low socio-economic backgrounds in achieving their educational and professional ambitions. This initiative spans across 23 states and focuses on aiding 440 students preparing for competitive exams like the Union and State Civil Services and the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), as well as supporting 343 students from various Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) campuses. These IIT students are part of 100 different teams working on projects that could potentially benefit society and the environment.

Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program Empowers Students

At the heart of this initiative is the collaboration with BharatCares, which oversees the implementation of the Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program on behalf of HMIF. This partnership ensures that the scholarships reach a wide range of talented individuals, empowering them to make significant contributions to India's development. The program is particularly focused on nurturing future leaders, innovators, and nation builders, thus aligning with Hyundai's global vision of 'Progress for Humanity'.

During the award ceremony, several dignitaries praised the Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program for its contribution to India's growth. Shri. Kiren Rijiju, Honorable Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of Minority Affairs, Government of India, highlighted the program's role in nurturing ambition and empowering young changemakers. He remarked, "The Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program is a commendable initiative by Hyundai Motor India Foundation, reflecting its deep commitment to the progress of our nation. By supporting underprivileged yet talented students, this program goes beyond providing financial aid, well towards enriching lives, nurturing ambition and empowering young changemakers. Adding to this, Mr. Gopalakrishnan Chathapuram Sivaramakrishnan, Trustee – HMIF, emphasized the program's impact, not just on the recipients but on society at large. The disbursement ceremony saw the presence of notable figures, including Shri. Kiren Rijiju, as well as Mr. Jeongick Lee, Function Head – Corporate Affairs, HMIL, and Mr. Puneet Anand, Vertical Head – Corporate Communication & Social, HMIL. Their participation underscored the importance of corporate social responsibility initiatives like the Hyundai Hope Scholarship Program in supporting India's educational and technological advancement.
