History of HPS

The Hyderabad Public School was founded in 1923 as the Jagirdars College. It began with five students and six teachers. In 1950, the Jagirdari system was abolished, and the government decided that the college should be transformed into an independent public school. The Jagirdar's College was reorganised in 1951 as The Hyderabad Public School and affiliated as a member of the Indian Public Schools Conference (IPSC).

The Principal of Hyderabad Public School, Dr. Skand Bali, said that empathy is the one adjective that defines the school. He explained that empathy is at the core of everything the school does. The school has produced several CEOs and presidents who have made their mark on the world stage in the last decade.

The Hyderabad Public School is a prestigious institution with a long history of producing CEOs, public service officers, and other notable figures. The school's emphasis on positive thinking, active listening, and early responsibility helps to cultivate leaders of tomorrow.

Instilling Responsibility and Qualities

Students are taught to aim high from the beginning at HPS. The school hosts many activities daily, including leadership campaigns, sports tournaments, and extracurricular activities. This dynamic environment fosters learning for both students and teachers. The key to this success, according to the principal, is emphasizing empathy and establishing a personal connection between teachers and students.

The school places a strong emphasis on sports. In April 2023,HPS inaugurated an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The school is also introducing synchronized swimming for India with technical support from The Swimming Federation of India. HPS will fund training and coaches, potentially from Malaysia or Kazakhstan.

Gusti Noria, the president of HPS, said that the school is a blend of leadership, character building, and academics. They believe that sports are important and have revamped their sports policy this year by introducing high performance management. They are bringing in professionals to provide high performance management for their students.
