Hindustan University, launches its new and unique course in MBA in Defence Technology Management. The course will sharpen the management skills of the students required in Defence Technology. This course is run by the Centre of Defence Technology Studies of Hindustan University.
The course focuses on producing management professionals, who in future could be a part of the growing military-industrial complex in the country. Military is considered as a field in which only soldiers, commanders, generals etc. can work but there are various departments in this field which required professional management skills. This course, equip the students with specific management skills required for the job.
The course, MBA Defence Technology Management is designed in order to meet the requisites of the users of the Armed services, designers of Defence technology, manufacturers in Defence industries in the public and private sectors and educators and institutions engaged in academic programmes pertaining to Defence Technology. Hence this course offers tremendous scope for developing knowledge-base in specialised areas and provide wide ranging career opportunities in Technological development, Management, Defence Production, Research and related industries spread all over the country. The course also initiates academic research in the discipline. Academic collaboration with Cranfield University (UK) provides a value addition to the courses conducted at Centre for Defence Technology Studies, Hindustan University.
Hindustan College of Engineering, started in the year 1985, was conferred the 'University Status' by University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, Under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 from the academic year 2008-09 and under the name HITS (Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science).
