Haryana's state government has declared winter break for all public and private schools in the state. According to the specifics, schools would be closed from January 1 to 15, 2024. A notification was made via the Haryana Chief Minister's Office's official X (previously known as Twitter) handle. According to the announcement, all public and private schools will resume on January 16, 2024. The chief minister's office has also asked schools to ensure that the schedule is followed.

"In view of the increasing cold, the Haryana government has announced winter vacation in all government and private schools of the state from January 1 to January 15, 2024. During this period all schools will remain closed," an official circular issued by the state administration stated.
The government has ordered all District Education Officers, District Elementary Education Officers, and principals to follow the Haryana Government's standards.
The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has announced that winter vacation would begin in state schools on December 25, 2023. Meanwhile, winter vacation in Delhi has been shortened from 15 to six days, and will begin on January 1, 2024.In light of the lowest temperatures going below freezing over the last three days, the Jammu and Kashmir administration is also "seriously" considering winter break for schools in the valley, a senior official said on Wednesday. "I can't say anything definitively until a formal announcement is made, but (winter vacations) are something we're seriously considering." "A proposal has been submitted to the administration in this regard," V K Bhiduri, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, told reporters.
