Gujarat University declares three days holiday

After the announcement of the dates for Lok Sabha Elections, Gujarat University has declared three days holiday on 29th, 30th April and 01st May 2014.

On these dates, the Gujarat state will go for polls. Recently the University had announced the tentative dates for semester examinations of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

According to the tentative dates, second semester B.Ed course examinations will commence from 10th April 2014. Sixth semester of B.A, B.Com, B.Sc and BCA examinations will commence on the same day.

Fourth semester of B.A (regular and internal), B.Com, BBA and BCA examination will begin from 24th April 2014.

Fourth semester of M.A, M.Com, M.Sc will also commence on 24th April 2014.

After this, the GU exam officials have kept a break, keeping the LS polls in mind, as the staff of the university will be deputed for poll-duty training.

After a three-day break, the last phase of exams will begin from 08th May, where second semester examinations of B.A, B.Com, M.Ed, M.Sc, fourth semester B.Sc examinations and first, second and third semester examinations of LLM will be held.

The officials said that colleges have been asked to finalize the schedule of the practical exams.

Recently, University of Mumbai and Rajasthan University have already postponed their semester examinations on account of Lok Sabha Elections.
