Gujarat SSC 2021 Cancelled, GSEB To Grant Mass Promotion Without Exams

Gujarat SSC 2021 CM Vijay Rupani has cancelled GSEB Gujarat Class 10th board exams 2021 due to COVID-19. All regular students will be promoted without exams.

With the surge in Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Gujarat, the state government has decided to cancel the Class 10th board exams. It has also decided to grant mass promotion to all regular Class 10th students. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has taken the decision after a high-level core committee meeting. The exam authority, Gujarat Secondary Education Board (GSEB), will take a decision regarding 'repeaters' after assessing the pandemic situation. Gujarat SSC 2021 Cancelled Due To COVID

Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani tweeted, "An important decision was taken today in the wider interest of the students of standard 10th SSC of the state. Considering the current state of transition of Coronavirus, the decision to give adequate mass promotion to regular students in Std-10 SSC this year was taken in the core committee meeting held today."

CMO Gujarat tweeted, "Gujarat Govt, under the guidance of CM Shri @vijayrupanibjp, takes an important decision to grant mass promotion to all regular students of Class-10 (SSC) for this year owing to the present situation of COVID-19 in the State."

Earlier, the government has postponed the Class 10th (SSC) board exams scheduled between May 10 and 20 indefinitely in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has announced that the revised schedule will be released by GSEB in mid-May. However, the state government has cancelled the Gujarat SSC exams 2021 and decided to grant mass promotion to all regular students of Class 10 (SSC) for this year. The sources suggest that Gujarat is the first state in the country to grant mass promotion to all regular Class 10 students.

The government has also deferred the Class 12th exams scheduled in May along with SSC exams. However, there is no official announcement yet regarding the postponed Class 12th exams. The state government has also promoted students of Classes 1 to 9 besides Class 11 for the academic year 2020-2021 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
