Gujarat GSEB Class 12th Exams 2021 Cancelled

ANI news agency tweeted, "Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board cancels class 12th board examination, says State Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama."

Last week, the Gujarat Board released the Class 10th and Class 12th date sheet scheduled to begin from July 1. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani decided to hold exams after a high-level meeting. However, the board has cancelled the Gujarat Class 12th board exams shortly after the union government decision to cancel the CISCE and CBSE 12th board exams 2021.

Earlier, the Gujarat government decided to postpone the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams scheduled to be held in April due to a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases across the state. As per the sources, around 1.40 lakh students of the Science stream and more than 5.43 lakh students of the general stream (arts and commerce) will be promoted based on the internal assessment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting on June 1 and decided to cancel the CBSE Class 12th exams considering the health and safety of students.

Modi tweeted, "Government of India has decided to cancel the Class XII CBSE Board Exams. After extensive consultations, we have taken a decision that is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth."

The GSEB is likely to conduct the board exams for those students who are not satisfied with the results. However, the exams will be held when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams.
