GTU, Gujarat to cut down 5,000 seats

Due to the lack of teaching staff in the Gujarat Technological University's affiliated colleges, university has decided to cut-down 5,000 technical education seats across the state.

GTU Vice-chancellor, Akshai Aggarwal said that there was a lack of teaching staff in the colleges, which tends to reduce the seats.

GTU has set up 25 GTU Innovation Sankuls all across Gujarat. Each Sankul provides a platform for colleges and surrounding industries to work together.

A Sankul committee is co-chaired by a senior academician and an industry leader.

VC also said that there is no need to increase in the budget for higher education in the state.
