Greater Chennai Corporation Launches Special Coaching For Classes X-XII Students

The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has taken a major step toward improving academic excellence by launching special coaching classes for students of Classes X, XI, and XII in Chennai's corporation schools. The initiative aims to strengthen students' preparation for board exams and competitive entrance tests like NEET, JEE, and CUET, ensuring equal learning opportunities for students from all backgrounds.

The coaching sessions will be conducted after regular school hours and on weekends across selected corporation schools in Chennai. Each center will have trained teachers and expert mentors to guide students through key subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. Along with classroom teaching, the program includes practice tests, mock exams, doubt-clearing sessions, and one-on-one mentorship to help students overcome academic challenges.

According to GCC officials, the main objective is to reduce the learning gap among students and boost their confidence before they appear for major exams. The curriculum has been designed in line with Tamil Nadu State Board standards while integrating concepts required for national-level competitive exams.

The initiative also focuses on improving critical thinking, analytical skills, and time management, which are essential for success in exams like NEET and JEE. To make the learning process more engaging, digital tools, audiovisual materials, and interactive teaching methods will be used.

Students will also receive free study materials and model question papers prepared by experts. Regular assessments will help track progress and identify areas that need improvement. The Corporation is also planning to involve volunteer educators, alumni, and NGOs to support the initiative and provide career guidance.

The program is part of GCC's broader vision to uplift the standard of public education in Chennai and ensure that no student is left behind due to lack of access to quality coaching. Similar efforts by GCC in previous years have resulted in improved board exam pass percentages and increased participation in competitive exams among corporation school students.

By launching this special coaching drive, the Greater Chennai Corporation aims to empower students to aim higher and achieve success in both board and competitive examinations. The initiative reflects the city's growing focus on inclusive and equitable education, ensuring that academic excellence becomes a shared goal across all sections of society.
