The Study In India (SII) portal, an online center designed to streamline the experience of overseas students in India, was inaugurated by the government on Wednesday. S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs for the union, and Dharmendra Pradhan, the minister of education, together unveiled the portal. With the opening of this portal, India is intended to become a center for international education by accepting students from different backgrounds.
Aims To Make India A Hub Of Global Education
''The introduction of this portal aims to make India a hub of global education by accepting students from diverse backgrounds. It would also assist us in building a strong international presence for the India brand in the field of education. I take note of the portal's integrated design, which makes it possible for international students to apply in a user-friendly manner from registration to visa acceptance. According to Jaishankar, who spoke at the event, this streamlines "their entire journey, facilitating the choice of desired courses and receiving offers from relevant institutions."

"From an Indian perspective, there is no doubt that the presence of international students will benefit domestic students." It will help students feel more a part of the world that is becoming more globalized and better prepare them for a global workforce. Studying with international students improves your awareness of their cultures, customs, traditions, and even ways of thinking, he asserted. "Such students truly become ambassadors of goodwill for India when they return to their societies of origin, sometimes even more so," he said.
Vision Of The SII Portal is Guided By Nep
The new National Education Policy (NEP), according to the education minister, serves as the goal for the portal. The SII portal, which is ''guided by the NEP,'' he added, ''reflects our resolve to make India a preferred education destination as well as to blur academic boundaries for crafting a prosperous future.
About The SII Programme
The Ministry of Education (MoE) launched its flagship initiative, the SII program, in 2018. By encouraging them to pursue their further education in the nation and experience beneficial educational opportunities made possible by top Indian colleges, the program aims to promote India as a leading education hub for international students.
