Government Introduces an Additional 3 New Sainik Schools; Entrance Exam in January 2026 for Class 6 and 9

In a move to enhance the reach of the Sainik School educational model, the Central Government has introduced three new Sainik Schools under the Sainik Schools Society, Ministry of Defence. This expansion is part of the government's ambitious plan to establish 100 new Sainik Schools across India under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

These newly approved institutions aim to blend academic excellence with character development, physical fitness, and leadership training-hallmarks of the Sainik School system. The new schools will function in partnership with state governments, NGOs, and private educational organizations that meet the Ministry of Defence's criteria.

The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) 2026 will serve as the admission gateway to these schools. The exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in January 2026. For Class 9, the test will be held exclusively in English medium, while for Class 6, it will be conducted in 13 regional languages to promote inclusivity across India's diverse linguistic landscape.

The AISSEE will evaluate students' proficiency in mathematics, language, intelligence, and general knowledge. Successful candidates will gain admission to Sainik Schools, where they will receive a holistic education that fosters patriotism, discipline, and leadership-values that prepare students for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and other future endeavors.

The newly announced Sainik Schools will follow the CBSE curriculum along with a specialized co-curricular framework emphasizing physical training, leadership, and social responsibility. These schools will also offer state-of-the-art facilities and focus on the all-round personality development of students.

The addition of these three Sainik Schools marks another milestone in India's educational development strategy. It aligns with the government's vision of strengthening the education system by combining academics with values of courage, discipline, and service to the nation.

Conclusion:

The government's decision to add three new Sainik Schools and conduct AISSEE 2026 in January marks a significant step toward expanding quality education rooted in military discipline. With multilingual exam options for Class 6 and an English-medium exam for Class 9, the initiative ensures inclusivity, accessibility, and holistic student development nationwide.
