Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that the state government has cancelled the Goa Board Exams 2021 for students of Class 10 in view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. A decision on Goa Board Class 12 examination will be taken by 25 May 2021.

The decision of cancelling the Class 10 Board Exam 2021 has been taken on the recommendation of the Goa Secondary and Higher Secondary School Education Board and officials of the education department as well as a committee of experts in the field, and the Class 10 marks will be allotted on the basis of an internal assessment of the exams conducted in the academic year 2020-21.
"Those who fail in one or two subjects can appear for the ATKT (Allowed To Keep Terms) exam. Those who want to opt for the science and diploma stream will have to take a one-day examination, which will be conducted by the Goa Board. The one-day examination will be informed 15 days in advance for students," said CM Pramod Sawant.
According to Sawant, 'private students' (those who study in night schools or schools for dropouts) would have to take a one-day or three-day exam, the dates of which would be declared later.
"The decision on the Class 12 board examination will be announced on Tuesday or Wednesday," added Sawant.
