GATE 2027 registration: DigiLocker mandate and required documents

DigiLocker is mandatory for Indian nationals. GOAPS fetches your verified name, birth date, contacts, and address, and captures a live photo. Uploads in DigiLocker are required only for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Persons with Disability candidates. EWS and OBC‑NCL certificates are not collected during application. Carry the same verified ID to the centre.

GATE 2027 new Robotics and Automation paper: why it matters

The new Robotics and Automation paper expands options for robotics, control, and mechatronics backgrounds. Syllabi across papers are updated after several years, so plan topic coverage early. Textile Engineering and Fibre Science now appears as XE9 within Engineering Sciences. Review two‑paper combinations before selecting a second paper. General Aptitude remains common.

GATE 2027 fees, category rules, and photo/signature specs

Fees are ₹1000 for female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates, and ₹2000 for others, per paper; late fees add ₹500. Two papers mean double payment. Photo must be colour, white background, 200×260 to 530×690 pixels, 5–600 kB. Signature must be black or blue, 250×80 to 580×180 pixels, 3–300 kB.

How to apply for GATE 2027 on GOAPS: quick steps and fixes

Create a verified DigiLocker account, then grant consent in GOAPS. Prepare photo and signature as per specs. Choose paper(s) and six cities within one zone, fill details, review, and pay online.
