GATE 2027 Registration Deadline Extended: New Dates, Late Fee, and Correction Window Details

Confusion around today’s GATE deadline ends with an official extension. IIT Madras has pushed the GATE 2027 registration last date to September 27, 2026. The late-fee window will run until October 5, 2026. Submit early to skip extra charges and last‑minute upload issues on the portal.

DigiLocker do’s and don’ts for GATE 2027

Use a verified DigiLocker account after completing e‑KYC; unverified accounts are allowed but will face on‑site document checks. Do not delete the linked account after payment. Upload files inside the “GATE2027” folder using prescribed names, with sizes between 10 kB and 600 kB. Your Aadhaar photo is not considered.

Who must upload category or PwD documents

General, OBC‑NCL and EWS candidates need not upload documents to the DigiLocker folder. SC or ST candidates must upload their certificate as CATEGORY.pdf. PwD candidates should upload UDID_CERT.pdf and PWD_CERT.pdf; append Appendix B1 or B2 if advised. Facing live‑capture issues, especially with visual impairment, contact the helpdesk.

Photo and signature: avoid quick rejections

Keep a white background, frontal face, and 60–70 percent face coverage. Photo must be 200×260 to 530×690 pixels, 5–600 kB. Signature must be black or dark blue, 250×80 to 580×180 pixels, 3–300 kB, with a 1:2.75–1:3.75 ratio. Defects trigger rectification during October 14–21.

GATE 2027 fees: regular vs late window
