Important Dates for GATE 2025

The key dates for GATE 2025 are as follows:

  • Registration Start Date: August 28, 2024
  • Regular Fee Application Deadline: September 26, 2024
  • Late Fee Deadline: October 7, 2024
  • Exam Dates: February 1st, 2nd, 15th, and 16th, 2025

The GATE 2025 exams will be held in two shifts on each of the scheduled dates: from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates have the option to choose one or two papers from the available combinations, with each paper lasting three hours.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for GATE 2025 includes:

  • Students in their third year or higher of undergraduate engineering/technology/architecture programs.
  • Graduates with a government-approved degree in engineering, technology, science, commerce, arts, or humanities.

The GATE score is valid for three years from the date of result announcement, providing candidates ample time to use their scores for admissions or job applications.

Application Fee Details

The application fee varies based on the candidate's category:

  • Female candidates and SC/ST/PwD categories: Rs. 900 (regular fee), Rs. 1400 (late fee).
  • All other candidates, including foreign nationals: Rs. 1800 (regular fee), Rs. 2300 (late fee).

Steps to Apply for GATE 2025

To apply for GATE 2025, follow these steps:

  • Visit gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
  • Create a new account by providing basic details.
  • Enter your personal, educational, and contact information.
  • Select the papers you wish to appear for.
  • Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other necessary documents.
  • Pay the required fee using net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI.
  • Review all details carefully before submitting the application form.

Documents Required

Candidates will need to upload the following documents during the application process:

  • Scanned passport-sized photograph (JPEG/JPG format; size between 5 KB and 1 MB).
  • Scanned signature image (JPEG/JPG format; size between 5 KB and 200 KB).
  • Scanned category certificate (SC/ST) if applicable (PDF format).
  • Scanned PwD certificate if applicable (PDF format).
  • Scanned certificate of Dyslexia if applicable (PDF format).
  • Scanned copy of a valid photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving License).
  • Detailed communication address with PIN code.
  • Educational qualification details.
  • Payment details (net banking/debit/credit card/UPI).
