There has been a hold-up in the registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025. Now, on August 28, 2024, the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT-R), which is in charge of organizing the examination, will begin accepting registrations. The registration period was initially scheduled to begin on August 24. Interested candidates can apply until September 26 without being charged a late fee. The registration period will be extended until October 7 for individuals who miss this deadline, but there will be a late fee.

GATE is a prestigious national-level examination that evaluates a candidate's understanding across various undergraduate subjects, including engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, and humanities. The examination for GATE 2025 is scheduled to be conducted from February 1 to February 16, 2025.

GATE 2025: Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates who are eligible to apply for GATE 2025 include the following criteria:
  • Students currently enrolled in their third year or beyond of any undergraduate degree program.
  • Individuals who have completed any government-approved degree program in the relevant fields.

GATE 2025: Registration Process:

The registration window for GATE 2025 will be open from August 28 to September 26, 2024, without any late fee. Candidates who miss this deadline can still register until October 7, 2024, but will be required to pay a late fee. To register, candidates need to visit the official GATE 2025 website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in once the registration portal becomes active.

GATE 2025: Application Requirements:

When registering for GATE 2025, candidates will need to provide the following:
Personal details such as full name, date of birth, mobile number, and parents' details.
Documents including:

  • Details of their eligibility degree
  • Payment details (net banking, debit/credit card, or UPI)A high-quality passport-sized photograph
  • A high-quality image of their signature
  • Category certificate (SC/ST) if applicable
  • PWD certificate if applicable
  • Dyslexia certificate if applicable
  • A valid photo identity document (Aadhaar-UID preferred)

GATE 2025: Examination Cities:

GATE 2025 will not have international examination centers. Both Indian and international candidates will need to travel to India to take the exam. Candidates can review the list of tentative examination cities based on their state on the official GATE website.

GATE 2025: Exam Format and Syllabus:

The GATE 2025 exam will be conducted in English and will be computer-based. The test will last three hours and include a mix of general aptitude questions and subject-specific questions selected by the candidate. The paper will feature multiple-choice questions (MCQ), multiple-select questions (MSQ), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions.

The total marks for the exam are 100, with 15 marks allocated to general aptitude. Incorrect answers in MCQs will incur negative markings; however, there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers in MSQs or NAT questions.

GATE 2025: Results Announcement:
