Delhi University has officially announced that classes for the 2024-25 academic year will begin on August 29. The commencement of the academic session is later than initially scheduled, primarily due to delays in the release of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) results.

In the first round of undergraduate admissions, over 46,000 out of the 71,600 available seats have already been filled. This significant milestone was confirmed in an official statement released by the university on Tuesday. Students who are securing admissions in the second round must complete their online payment by August 30, with the payment window closing at 4:59 pm. To confirm their seats, students must ensure that their payments are completed within this specified timeframe.
During the first round of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), 83,678 students accepted admission offers from Delhi University. As of 5 pm on Tuesday, 46,171 students had secured their seats by paying the required fees. The deadline for fee payment for this round was August 21. On Thursday, Delhi University will provide a list of vacant seats on candidates' dashboards, signaling the start of the second round of CSAS for the academic session. Starting at 5 pm on August 22, students will have the opportunity to reorder their preferred colleges and course combinations. This reordering window will remain open until 4:59 pm on August 23.
Among those who were offered college and course combinations, 11,224 students have chosen to "freeze" their selections, indicating that they need more time to finalize their decisions. Meanwhile, 27,613 students have opted to seek an upgrade in their allotted college and course combinations. This admission cycle saw Delhi University extending offers to a total of 97,387 students. The university is working diligently to streamline the admission process and accommodate as many students as possible within its capacity.
