Shivaji University announces new dates for PG entrance examinations

Shivaji University, Kolhapur has announced the new dates for the postgraduate entrance examinations which is going to be held in May 2014.

University is all set to conduct PG courses entrance examinations on 11th, 18th and 25th May 2014.

The decision regarding the change in schedule was taken in a postgraduate admission department meeting on 18th March.

Earlier, the exams were scheduled on 27th April and 04th May 2014.

"The decision to postpone the exam was taken after the examination department re-scheduled some of the examinations on April 16 and 17 that were clashing with the general assembly election dates of April 17," a university official said.

On 11th May 2014, PG entrance examination would be held for Zoology, biotechnology, biochemistry, Environmental Science, Agriculture and Pest Management, Food Science, Technology and Environmental Biotechnology.

On 18th May 2014, entrance examination would be held from MSW, MRS, MBA, MCA and M.Tech courses.

On 25th May 2014, entrance examination would be held for MCA, chemistry, computer science, microbiology, mathematics, botany, electronics, physics, MJC and geology.

"If we had stuck to the original schedule, then we would have saved almost a month and the admission procedure would have ended by May 31," said the official.

"Varsity with 40 different departmental courses conducts entrance examinations for 21 PG courses every year. Rest of the courses fall in the social sciences, languages and political sciences and do not require entrance exam," added the official.
