Roorkee, Oct 17: India's most advanced online test preparation portal for toughest exams in the country like the JEE and AIPMT organized an international online coding competition called Pi-rates. This competition was organized as part of IIT Roorkee's annual fest Thomso'14.
‘PIRATES' that took place on Saturday 11th October', was a twenty-four hour online event which commenced from 9:00 pm IST and saw participation from 11 countries across the globe. Four different sets of questionnaires, prepared by the programming and algorithm group of IIT Roorkee, were uploaded on SDSLabs' internet math problem solving portal - Erdos in an interval of every 6 hours.
The competition saw participants pushing their limits and solving complex coding problems. It helped them understand their capacity to innovate, create and experiment. Using this platform participants were able to challenge themselves and could assess their understanding of algorithms and data structures.
The winner of PIRATES 2014 was Uwi Tenpen of JAPAN and the runner up Nihal Nanecha from IIT Roorkee, India.
Karan Avasthi, VP Marketing, Indiavidual Learning, said, "It is time students, parents & even educators finally embrace technology to fill in gaping holes in preparation effectiveness. The IIT's are no longer only a dream but a genuine possibility for our students on embibe. embibe's analytics engine helps them understand exact areas of improvement, be it speed, accuracy, time management or planning. In fact, it is no surprise that our first academic year results delivered a host of top rankers including AIR 1, AIR 3 and AIR 8 all of whom eventually joined the IIT's. So it was a pleasure associating with IIT-Roorkee and Thomso'14. Heartfelt congratulations to all winners".
Founded in 2012, embibe helps students perform to their full potential in the toughest exams in the country like the JEE and AIPMT. It is the only ‘high-stakes' exam prep-platform in India, which has built its value proposition around real challenges that accompany preparation for massively competitive complex exams (MCCE's). Leveraging a crossroads of data science and technology with education, embibe addresses the issue of little and no information around gaps in exam preparation. It is also the only platform that involves students, parents and mentors towards collaborating on marks improvement.
embibe's revolutionary analytics engine has been designed to capture exact student weaknesses and give out personalized marks improvement recommendations, centered around critical exam performance metrics like speed, accuracy, time management, attempt planning, stamina & even psychological factors like confidence. As part of its first year results, embibe broke all ed-tech records in 2014, bagging IIT-JEE AIR 1 (Chitraang Murdia), AIR 3 (Govind Lahoti), AIR 71 (Aryan Garg), AIR 249 (Kshitij Baja) and many more top rankers.
