embibe presents international online coding competition at IIT Roorkee

Roorkee, Oct 17: India's most advanced online test preparation portal for toughest exams in the country like the JEE and AIPMT organized an international online coding competition called Pi-rates. This competition was organized as part of IIT Roorkee's annual fest Thomso'14.

‘PIRATES' that took place on Saturday 11th October', was a twenty-four hour online event which commenced from 9:00 pm IST and saw participation from 11 countries across the globe. Four different sets of questionnaires, prepared by the programming and algorithm group of IIT Roorkee, were uploaded on SDSLabs' internet math problem solving portal - Erdos in an interval of every 6 hours.

The competition saw participants pushing their limits and solving complex coding problems. It helped them understand their capacity to innovate, create and experiment. Using this platform participants were able to challenge themselves and could assess their understanding of algorithms and data structures.

The winner of PIRATES 2014 was Uwi Tenpen of JAPAN and the runner up Nihal Nanecha from IIT Roorkee, India.
