Eastern Railway Recruitment: Apply Online For 2,792 Apprentices Post In Multiple Trades

The Indian Railways, through RRC Eastern Railway, Kolkata, has called for online applications from eligible and interested candidates for filling 2,792 Apprentice vacancies in multiple trades comprising Fitter, Welder (G&E), Mechanic (DSL), Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Blacksmith, Machinist, Carpenter, Painter (General), Lineman (Gen), Wireman, Refrigeration and AC Mechanic, Electrician, MMTM, Electronics Mechanic, Turner, etc. through direct recruitment to be posted in various Eastern Railway divisions. The registration-cum-application process towards the same starts from February 14, 2020 and closes on March 13, 2020 by 6:30 pm.

Age Criteria And Fees

Candidates interested in applying for Apprentices post through Eastern Railway Recruitment must have attained 15 years of age as on March 13, 2020 and not have exceeded 24 years of age (Gen/UR), 27 years (OBC) and 29 years (SC/ST) respectively as specified in the notification.

Candidates must pay a specified amount of Rs. 100 as application processing fee through online (debit card/credit card/netbanking) mode only. SC/ST/PWD and Women applicants, however, are exempted from paying the application fee.

Educational Criteria And Eligibility

Candidates applying for Apprentices post through Eastern Railway Recruitment must have passed Class 10/Matriculation under 10+2 examination system with minimum 50% marks (aggregate) with an ITI certificate in relevant trade from NCVT/SCVT recognised Board/Institute as specified in the notification.

Selection And Pay Scale

The selection of candidates to Apprentices post through Eastern Railway Recruitment will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained by the candidates in their Matriculation as well as ITI examination in the concerned trade.

Candidates selected as Apprentices through Eastern Railway Recruitment will be paid a monthly stipend as per the Apprenticeship norms.
