EAMCET 2014: Zero admissions in 24 engg colleges


Supreme Court has approved to conduct EAMCET 2014 special counselling in Telangana. The engineering courses counselling was held between November 5 to 7, 2014.

Around 24 engineering colleges has registered zero admissions. Another 66 colleges recorded admissions below 15 for all disciplines. Some of the other colleges managed to take only a meagre intake and even several colleges contemplating to shut down.

The special round counselling was held for 135 engineering colleges in Telangana. A total of 45,293 convener quota seats were made available admissions. Around 3,261 students had attended the counselling and 3,115 students exercised online options.

Around 42,178 convener quota seats remained vacant.

The Chairman of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), T Papi Reddy said, "The Supreme Court has instructed to carry out another round of inspection and submit a report by December 31. "
