DU Financial Support Scheme 2026-27: Apply by October 13 for Up to 100% Fee Waiver

The University of Delhi (DU) has opened applications for the Financial Support Scheme (FSS) 2026-27 to provide fee assistance to eligible students from lower-income families. The scheme is being implemented through the Office of the Dean Students' Welfare (DSW).

Eligible students can submit their applications online until October 13, 2026. The DSW website has also made available the FSS 2026-27 undertaking and bonafide certificate forms.

Under the scheme, eligible students can receive a fee waiver based on their annual family income. The maximum support available is up to 100% of the applicable fee, subject to the prescribed monetary limit.

The financial assistance has been divided into two income categories:

The waiver does not cover examination fees and hostel fees.

DU FSS 2026-27: Who Can Apply?

The scheme is meant for full-time bona fide students pursuing regular undergraduate or postgraduate degree programmes at a DU department, institute or centre. First-year and first-semester students can also apply, provided they meet the other conditions.

Students enrolled in DU constituent colleges, School of Open Learning (SOL), NCWEB, B.Tech programmes other than the eligible CIC programme, and five-year integrated law programmes are not eligible. Students with an Essential Repeat (ER) in any previous examination are also excluded. Those admitted under the Orphan Quota or eligible PwBD fee-waiver provisions are also not covered under FSS.

DU Financial Support Scheme 2026-27: Documents Required

Applicants must keep the required documents ready before submitting the application. These include:

• EWS/OBC-NCL certificate or annual family income certificate issued by a competent authority for financial year 2025-26.

• Latest Income Tax Returns of the student's father, mother, unmarried sisters and unmarried brothers below 25 years, where applicable.

• PAN cards of the relevant family members.

• Signed undertaking form and bonafide certificate.

• Marksheet of the last examination and latest fee receipt.

• Student's bank passbook showing the account number and IFSC code, or a cancelled cheque.

DU has specified that a notarised or self-declared income certificate will not be accepted, and the income certificate should not be issued in the student's name. The bank account provided must also belong to the student.

How to Apply for DU FSS 2026-27?

Eligible students should visit dsw.du.ac.in and access the Financial Support Scheme 2026-27 application link. They should complete the online form, upload the required documents and submit the application before October 13, 2026. The schedule for submitting the printed application and supporting documents for verification will be announced separately by the DSW office.
