University of Delhi, is all set to conduct a national conference on the subject 'Social change in Contemporary India'. The conference is conducted jointly by Delhi University, Sri Aurobindo College (Evening) and National Academy of Psychology India. Today's world is changing at a fast rate. Each individual has capabilities beyond imagination and the identity of the individual is being reconfigured. In the 21st century, India is witnessing remarkable changes with respect to technological, economic, social and political processes which demands adaptation and acquisition of skills along with preparedness and effective response. There is a need for culturally appropriate and effective solutions in order to deal with the changing socio-economic landscape of India.
The interdisciplinary nature of the conference aims to make sincere efforts to have insight into the new intelligibilities regarding the challenges faced. The seminar encourages the participation of scholars from different disciplines and perspectives.
Sri Aurobindo College (Evening), was established in 1984 and is a constituent College of the University of Delhi. The College has completed 29 years that charter all the phases of its growth and success. The College is named after Sri Aurobindo (15 August, 1875 -5 December, 1950), the philosopher, poet, nationalist and freedom fighter who developed his own vision of human progress and spiritual evolution. Born Aurobindo Ghosh, at Kolkata, he synthesised Eastern and Western philosophy, religion, literature, and psychology in his writings. The college offers various courses like B.Tech Psychological Sciences, BCom (Hons.), BA (Hons.)
