Delhi University Opens ‘Any Course, Any Age’ Applications for Professionals and Alumni
The University of Delhi (DU) has opened applications under its Competence Enhancement Scheme (CES), giving learners an opportunity to study selected university papers without enrolling in a full-fledged degree programme. The initiative, promoted under the theme "Any Course, Any Age," is designed to support knowledge enhancement and lifelong learning.

The scheme allows eligible learners, including working and non-working professionals and people from different age groups, to pursue individual courses offered by Delhi University. DU's CES portal states that working professionals are required to submit a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from their current employer.
DU CES 2026: Who Can Apply?
The Competence Enhancement Scheme is intended for learners who want to enhance their knowledge or develop expertise in a particular subject without pursuing an entire degree. Professionals, alumni and other eligible learners can explore the courses offered under the scheme.
However, students currently enrolled at the University of Delhi under any programme are not eligible to apply through CES. The university has specifically stated this condition on the CES admission portal.
DU CES 2026: What Applicants Should Check
Before registering, applicants should carefully check the list of courses and papers available for the relevant semester. Candidates are required to refer to the DU syllabi and provide details such as the programme name, semester, course name, course code (UPC) and course credits while applying.
The CES portal currently permits a candidate to apply for a maximum of two courses or eight credits, whichever is reached earlier, subject to the applicable scheme and discipline requirements. Applicants should also verify any course-specific eligibility or prerequisites before selecting a paper.
The university also advises applicants to carefully read the CES brochure and regularly check the admission portal for updates. Applications are scrutinised and verified before candidates can proceed with the applicable fee payment process.
The initiative provides a flexible route for learners who want to return to academic study, gain knowledge in a new discipline or strengthen their professional skills without committing to a complete degree programme.
