It is common when someone reaches a top position that people around try to pull them down with mockery. If we had to take all the bullies seriously, we would have got no time to get to our destiny. This is the principle that the author of the renowned book 'Five Point Someone' follows.

After all the popularity and readership that his books gained, now, Delhi University has marked 'Five Point Someone' as literature material and is offering it as a part of a course among the books of other authors such as J K Rowling and Agatha Christie.

On Twitter, a medium where most celebrities take up to communicate with the public and the public mindlessly spit their views, usually with the safe thought that their charges would not be taken seriously without any action against them, Bhagat's tweet about the inclusion of his book in Delhi University's literature course gathered controversial remarks and censure.

In an exclusive byte with Careerindia, Chetan Bhagat remarks how he grapples trolls and gives his piece of mind on the issue.

"There are always trolls on social media and it is time to stop taking them seriously. I am happy that the story is in literature and the decision to do it has been taken by important people, they matter. The rest of them can be ignored," he said, in a comeback to the mockery against him.

"To me, good literature is writing that actually touches people, whether in the past or now. It isn't something an elitist club decides," he remarked in a recent tweet.

On a happy note, he added, " I am honoured that my books are not only popular but also a part of academics now."
