Chennai: Diploma programmes on film technology offered by the MGR Government Film and Television Institute will be changed to bachelors degree courses, Tamil Nadu minister for Information KT Rajenthrabhalaji told the assembly recently.
Making a series of announcements for his department, he said "Chief minister Jayalalithaa has ordered that diploma programmes for film technology be changed as bachelors degree courses."
Also, part-time courses would be started at the institute on self-financing mode, he said. Modern gadgets for use by students of the institute would be procured through outsourcing at Rs.75 lakh, he said. On state-run Tamil Arasu magazine, he said it would be digitised at a cost of Rs 25 lakh and a digital printer would be procured for it at Rs 25 lakh.
