Digii100 Summit 2024 Celebrates Digital Excellence In Education Sector

The Digii100 Summit 2024 gathered over 250 leaders in New Delhi to discuss digital excellence in higher education. Key initiatives like the Student Experience Framework were unveiled, highlighting collaborative efforts to enhance student engagement and outcomes in India's educational landscape.

On December 14th, 2024, the Digii100 Summit, organized by Digii, a prominent SaaS provider from Bengaluru, marked a significant milestone in the realm of digital education. This event, hosted at the India Habitat Center in New Delhi, was a gathering of more than 250 leaders from the education and technology sectors, including policymakers and thought leaders. The summit celebrated the achievements of the top 100 higher education institutions (HEIs) in digital transformation, under the theme "Unlocking Digital Excellence". It aimed at hastening the digital shift within HEIs through a series of panel discussions, immersive workshops, and masterclasses.

The event was supported by an array of partners including Amazon Web Services (AWS), EPSI, Kalvium, the Asian Institute of Design, and Spread, highlighting the collective efforts of the community and technology in molding the future educational landscape. The day began with an opening session attended by distinguished leaders such as Prof. Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of the National Educational Technology Forum (NETF) and other notable entities, alongside Shr. Robin Hibu, IPS, and Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak.

Prof. Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe, in his address, emphasized the impact of the Digital India initiative led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, particularly in the education sector. He noted, "Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the Digital India initiative has driven transformative change across sectors including higher education. India's flourishing startup ecosystem reflects the power of digital transformation in shaping a more inclusive future of education. The Digii100 Summit has facilitated key discussions on advancing digital transformation in higher education, emphasizing the importance of collaboration for sustainable, student-first solutions."

One of the standout features of the summit was the unveiling of the Student Experience Framework by Digii and KPMG. This initiative is set to revolutionize student-centric practices within HEIs by offering a concrete, actionable plan for enhancing student engagement and outcomes. It was lauded as a crucial step toward fostering a more inclusive, student-oriented education system in India.

The summit's agenda was packed with six dynamic panel discussions covering various aspects of digital education, including the emphasis on student-first approaches and the journey towards digital excellence. Additionally, five roundtables offered deeper insights on topics such as AI's role in education, change management, and the importance of SOPs. Masterclasses on AI and immersive technologies like AR and VR further engaged the attendees.

A keynote address from Ponni Krishnamoorthy, representing Nokia's Bangalore 6G Research Center, provided an exciting look into how 6G technology could transform education and beyond. Hemant Sahal, Founder and CEO of Digii, shared his vision for the summit, stating, "The Digii100 Summit is not just a recognition of the top 100 institutions—it is a platform for collaboration between the entire community and shared learning. By showcasing the success stories of these pioneer HEIs, we aim to inspire more institutions to embrace digital transformation and drive meaningful change in the Indian education sector."

The summit also showcased successful technology implementations by institutions such as Medhavi Skills University, Techno India University, and ISBR Business School. Shri Mukesh Kumar Gupta, Deputy Director General of the Department of Telecommunications, commended the summit for fostering collaboration in digital transformation.

The event culminated with an awards ceremony featuring Arjun Vajpai, the youngest Indian to climb Mount Everest, who delivered an inspiring message on resilience and perseverance. This underscored the importance of overcoming challenges for comprehensive growth.

In conclusion, the Digii100 Summit reaffirmed the commitment to empowering HEIs through strategic technology use, innovation, and collaborative efforts.
