Delhi University to introduce Science of Happiness course in women colleges

According to an official statement released on Thursday, the Delhi University has made the decision to incorporate a course titled 'Science of Happiness' into the curriculum of various programs offered in five women's colleges and university departments starting from the upcoming academic session. The university, along with five women's colleges, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness to offer this course and establish a Centre of Excellence for Science of Happiness in these colleges.

As per the statement, the curriculum for the course will be provided by the foundation. However, the Delhi University reserves the right to adapt this curriculum to suit the requirements of students and the credit structure. "Happiness holds paramount importance in life. Recognizing the concept and necessity of the science of happiness, DU has taken the initiative to incorporate the Science of Happiness course into the curriculum of programs offered by its departments and colleges," stated Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh.

Five women's colleges associated with DU, including Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Gargi College, Indraprastha Women's College, Miranda House, and Daulat Ram College, have also entered into MoUs with the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness to introduce the course. The addition of the Science of Happiness course underscores DU's dedication to comprehensive education and the welfare of students, representing a noteworthy stride towards nurturing a favorable learning atmosphere.
