The University of Delhi (DU) has announced the availability of 11,100 vacant seats for the second round of undergraduate admissions. In the first round, a total of 65,843 seats were filled, accounting for 89.98% of the total available seats. Candidates have the opportunity to modify their college and course preferences between August 22 and 23.

Those who are allocated seats in this second round must confirm their allotment by August 27. Colleges are expected to finalize admissions by August 29, and students have until August 30 to pay the admission fee. DU UG Second Allotment 2024: Required Documents for Admission
Candidates participating in the admission and counseling process will need to present several documents. These include:
- CUET UG 2024 scorecard
- Class 12 certificate and marksheet
- Class 10 certificate and marksheet for date of birth verification
- Transfer Certificate (TC) or School Leaving Certificate (SLC)
- Migration certificate (if applicable)
- Category certificates (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD) if applicable
- Passport-sized photographs
- Provisional certificate from the last attended school
- Character certificate from the last attended institution
- Address proof such as an Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or Passport
Fresh Seat Allocations and Upgrades
In this second round of admissions, DU has completed a total of 24,869 fresh seat allocations. Additionally, 27,554 candidates have been upgraded to higher preference choices, as stated in an official press release by the university.
This academic year, DU is offering approximately 71,600 seats across its various colleges, departments, and centers. This figure excludes supernumerary seats. The admissions process covers a diverse range of programs with a total of 1,559 different program and college combinations.
According to DU's policy, candidates who were rejected in the first round due to invalid certificates or documents have been reconsidered under the unreserved category based on their merit and preferences. This reconsideration is contingent on seat availability.
The additional seat allocations in this second round aim to ensure that the academic session can commence on August 29, 2024. This step is part of DU's ongoing efforts to streamline the admission process effectively. This year's admission process at Delhi University underscores its commitment to accommodating as many eligible students as possible while ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the procedure.
