Delhi University has introduced a course in Environmental Studies for undergraduate students, as the per the UGC rules. The course will be applicable in the current academic session. This course shall be taken up by students, in either the first or second semester of his/her study as a qualifying course for 100 marks. This is as per the scheme notified for the 3 year undergraduate programme.
As per a circular, the evaluation process for the course will be undertaken by the respective college who will later send the evaluated marks to the examination branch through the existing mechanism.
The course will be available only in English in the current session, efforts are being made to introduce it in Hindi as well in the upcoming sessions, said MK Pandit, a professor in DU's Environmental Science department.
