The Delhi government, recognizing the need to support its students' higher education aspirations, has launched a pioneering initiative. In collaboration with the BIG Institute, it will provide 1.63 lakh students from government schools with complimentary online coaching. This initiative targets those seeking to prepare for crucial entrance exams such as the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) following their Class 12 studies.

This innovative program was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Delhi Directorate of Education and the BIG Institute. The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Education Minister Ashish Sood, highlighting the importance of this partnership. Education Minister Ashish Sood detailed the program's structure, revealing plans for an intensive 180-hour coaching spread across 30 days, featuring six hours of daily classes. This rigorous schedule is designed to maximize the students' preparation for their forthcoming entrance exams.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta articulated the government's vision behind this initiative, emphasizing its aim to bridge the educational gap for government school students. By facilitating access to quality coaching for entrance exams, the government hopes to increase the representation of these students in medical and engineering colleges. "With this, more and more students from Delhi government schools will get the opportunity to enrol in good colleges and successfully clear entrance exams for medical and engineering programmes," Gupta stated, underscoring the transformative potential of this program.
Scheduled to commence on April 1, this initiative marks a significant step towards democratizing access to higher education for students from varied socio-economic backgrounds. It represents the government's commitment to levelling the playing field in competitive exams, thereby fostering a more inclusive educational landscape. Through this program, Delhi's government school students are set to receive unparalleled support in their pursuit of higher education, potentially altering their professional trajectories and future opportunities.
