Today, on March 5, 2025, the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) is set to conduct the much-anticipated computerized draw of lots for admissions under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Disadvantaged Group (DG) categories for the academic session 2025-26. The event will take place at 2:30 PM in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Education, situated at Old Secretariat, Delhi - 110054. This initiative ensures a fair and transparent selection process, giving every eligible child an equal opportunity to access quality education.

To view the results, applicants need to navigate to the EWS/DG admission section, enter their application number, and verify the allotment status. It is advisable to download and print the result for future reference.

Record Number of Applications
This year has witnessed an overwhelming response, with approximately 2.5 lakh applications submitted. However, only 38,000 students will secure admission through this selection process. This highlights the increasing demand for quality education under the EWS/DG categories and the crucial role of this initiative in providing opportunities to underprivileged students.
Increased Income Eligibility for EWS Category
An important update in the admission criteria is the revision of the income eligibility limit for the EWS category, which has now been raised to ₹5 lakh. This change aims to address past challenges faced by economically weaker students and expand access to more deserving candidates. The Education Minister emphasized that, once selected, students will receive a confirmation slip post document verification, and schools will not have the authority to deny admission to any allotted student.
Next Steps for Selected Candidates
Once the results are announced, parents must complete the admission formalities within the given deadline. This includes document verification, submission of required certificates, and fulfilling any additional school-specific requirements. Failing to do so could lead to the loss of the allotted seat.
