Check School Reopening Dates, Holidays & Exam Timetable for Delhi Govt. Schools

The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi has officially released the academic calendar for the 2025-26 session, outlining key dates for school terms, holidays, and examination schedules for all government and government-aided schools in the capital. The calendar aims to streamline academic activities, ensure uniformity, and help schools plan their curriculum delivery effectively.

According to the notification, the new academic session will commence from April 1, 2025, and continue until March 31, 2026. The year will be split into two terms - Term 1 (April to September) and Term 2 (October to March).

School Reopening & Term Dates:

• Session Begins: April 1, 2025
• Summer Vacation: May 11 to June 30, 2025
• Autumn Break: September 29 to October 1, 2025
• Winter Break: January 1 to January 15, 2026
• Session Ends: March 31, 2026

Exam Schedule:

• Mid-Term/First Term Exams: September 10 to September 20, 2025
• Pre-Board Exams (Class X & XII): December 15 to December 31, 2025
• Final/Annual Exams: February 16 to March 21, 2026
• Result Declaration: March 30, 2026

Holidays:

The calendar includes national holidays, state holidays, and religious observances. Schools will also celebrate key events like Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Teachers' Day, and Children's Day. The DoE encourages schools to use these occasions to organize cultural and educational programs.

Other Highlights:

• Special focus on competency-based learning and NEP 2020 implementation
• Inclusion of co-curricular activities, health & wellness programs, and remedial classes
• Continuous assessment and teacher training schedules also included

The calendar also mentions important guidelines for board exam preparations, internal assessments, and project work timelines. Schools have been advised to ensure timely syllabus completion and student readiness.
