The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi has officially released the academic calendar for the 2025-26 session, outlining key dates for school terms, holidays, and examination schedules for all government and government-aided schools in the capital. The calendar aims to streamline academic activities, ensure uniformity, and help schools plan their curriculum delivery effectively.

DoE Delhi Releases Academic Calendar for 2025–26

According to the notification, the new academic session will commence from April 1, 2025, and continue until March 31, 2026. The year will be split into two terms - Term 1 (April to September) and Term 2 (October to March).

School Reopening & Term Dates:

Session Begins: April 1, 2025
Summer Vacation: May 11 to June 30, 2025
Autumn Break: September 29 to October 1, 2025
Winter Break: January 1 to January 15, 2026
Session Ends: March 31, 2026

Exam Schedule:

Mid-Term/First Term Exams: September 10 to September 20, 2025
Pre-Board Exams (Class X & XII): December 15 to December 31, 2025
Final/Annual Exams: February 16 to March 21, 2026
Result Declaration: March 30, 2026

Holidays:

The calendar includes national holidays, state holidays, and religious observances. Schools will also celebrate key events like Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Teachers' Day, and Children's Day. The DoE encourages schools to use these occasions to organize cultural and educational programs.

Special focus on competency-based learning and NEP 2020 implementation
