Deadline to Apply for WBPSC Extended

The last date to submit the online application for West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) has been extended.

Earlier it was announced that the last date for submission of online application and fees was November 28. The revised date is December 5.

The deadline for submission of offline fees is December 6, 2016. However, the challan must be generated by December 5.

WBPSC had some time back called candidates for the selection of eligible people for various posts in Group A, B, C and D services.

West Bengal Civil Service (Executive), West Bengal Commercial Tax Service, West Bengal Agricultural Income tax Service, West Bengal Excise Service, West Bengal Co-operative Service fall under Group A.

Group B is West Bengal Police Service. Group C comprises posts of Superintendent, District Correctional Home / Deputy Superintendent, Central Correctional Home, Joint Block Development Officer,

Group D comprises vacancies for Inspector of Co-operative Societies, Panchayat Development Officer under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department

The qualifying examination will be held in select districts of the state on January 29, followed by the recruitment process.

The two parts of the exam are the written exam and the interview/personality test. The written exam comprises a preliminary round and a mains round. Candidates will have to first clear the prelims round to qualify for the mains round. Candidates selected in the mains round will have to pass it to attend the interview round.

Age Criteria for WBPSC:

• For Group A, C and D, candidates should be between 21 and 32 years of age.
• For Group B, candidate should be between 20 and 32 years of age.
• The age bar will be calculated based on the candidate's age as on January 1, 2016.
