The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the application dates for the Common University Entrance Test CUET UG 2022 for gaining admissions to various undergraduate programmes in the Central Universities across India for the academic session 2022-23, according to an official notice.

CUET UG 2022 Registration to Commence on April 2

The testing agency is entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the undergraduate entrance tests for all the Central Universities (CUs) for the academic session 2022-2023 through CUET, which will serve as a single-window opportunity for students seeking admission to any of the Central Universities (CUs) across the country.

CUET UG 2022 Registration Dates

The online CUET UG 2022 registration for Undergraduate Programmes will commence from April 2, 2022 onwards and will remain active till April 30, 2022. The online CUET UG 2022 Application will be made available on the official website https://cuet.samarth.ac.in from April 2 onwards.

The Common University Entrance Test or CUET UG examination is likely to be conducted in the first week of July.

CUET Exam Structure

The Common University Entrance Test or CUET for admissions to Under Graduate courses for the academic session 2022-23 in all the UGC funded Central Universities will be conducted in 13 designated Indian languages covering Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Assamese, Bengali, Punjabi, Odia and English by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

The CUET UG 2022 examination will comprise four sections:

Section IA - 13 Languages
Section IB - 20 Languages
Section II - 27 Domain-specific Subjects
Section III - General Test

Candidates must note that Sections IA, Section IB and Section II will all comprise of 50 questions each out of which candidates are required to answer 40 questions while Section III will consist of 75 questions out of which 75 are to be attempted.

CUET Exam Syllabus

The CUET exam syllabus for all four sections of the Common University Entrance Test CUET UG 2022 will comprise of the following:

Section IA & IB will consist of Comprehension Reading (based on different types of passages-Factual, Literary and Narrative [Literary, Aptitude & Vocabulary]

Section II which will consist of domain-specified subjects will be as per the NCERT model syllabus as applicable to Class XII only.

Section III being a generic paper will comprise of questions based on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts arithmetic/algebra geometry/mensuration/stat taught till Grade 8), logical and analytical reasoning.

CUET UG 2022 Pattern And Schedule

The Common University Entrance Test CUET UG 2022 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) format in Objective type mode with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in 13 designated Indian languages with a duration of 45 minutes for each language and Domain-Specific papers while the Section III - General Test paper will be held for a duration of 60 minutes and all questions will be benchmarked at the level of Class XII only.

CUET UG examination will be conducted on multiple days in two shifts, depending on the number of Candidates and Languages/Tests taken by them, as per the official notice.

According to the UGC, students undertaking Common University Entrance Test CUET UG 2022 can now gain admissions into central varsities by using the CUET scores in place of the Class 12 scores.

The CUET UG can also be adopted by the State, Private, and Deemed to be Universities, as per the UGC notice without compromising and changing their existing reservation and admission policy but for the admissions that should be based on the Central University Entrance Test (CUET).
