The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the 22nd edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 and reopened the application window for eligible candidates who could not register during the earlier application period. According to the latest public notice, the CTET 2026 application window will reopen from August 25 and remain active until September 1, 2026.

Candidates who had already submitted their CTET 2026 applications successfully during the earlier registration window do not need to apply again. The reopened facility is intended for eligible candidates who missed the previous application deadline.
The earlier CTET 2026 application process was conducted from May 11 to June 10, 2026, following CBSE's public notice issued on May 8. Candidates who were eligible but could not complete their applications during this period can now use the additional registration opportunity.
The reopened application window will be available from August 25 to September 1, 2026. Candidates should complete the application process and fee payment within the prescribed deadline.
CBSE has clarified that candidates whose applications were already successfully submitted during the previous window should not submit a fresh application.
CBSE has taken the decision in view of a recent Supreme Court judgment concerning the statutory requirement of acquiring the prescribed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualification. The decision provides eligible candidates with a reasonable opportunity to meet the required qualification.
As a result, the earlier CTET examination schedule has been postponed. Candidates who were unable to register previously will now get another opportunity to apply.
