The National Testing Agency (NTA) has commenced the online registration process for the CSIR UGC NET December 2026 examination. Eligible candidates who wish to appear for the Joint CSIR-UGC NET December session can complete and submit their application forms through the official website, csirnet.nta.nic.in.

The registration process started on October 7, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications without a late fee until November 5, 2026, up to 11:50 PM. Those who miss the regular deadline can apply during the late application window from November 6 to 9, 2026, by paying an additional late fee of ₹500.

Candidates applying during the late application period will have to pay a ₹500 late fee in addition to the applicable examination fee. The last date for successful fee payment during the late window is November 9, 2026, up to 11:50 PM. The correction facility will be available from November 10 to 12, 2026, up to 11:50 PM.
The CSIR UGC NET December 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on December 19, 22 and 27, 2026. The examination will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

The Joint CSIR-UGC NET examination is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor, as well as for admission to PhD programmes in eligible Indian universities and higher education institutions. Depending on the eligibility category, the examination can also determine eligibility for Assistant Professor and PhD admission or PhD admission only.
