CPRI Recruitment 2026: Registration Begins for 110 Various Posts

The Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) has started the online application process for 110 posts under Advertisement No. CPRI/06/2026. CPRI Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The educational requirements vary by post. For Engineering Officer Grade 1, candidates need a first-class B.E./B.Tech qualification in the relevant engineering discipline. Candidates applying for the Electrical and Civil Engineering Officer posts must also have a valid GATE score from 2024, 2025 or 2026 in the relevant paper. The maximum age for these posts is 30 years.

For Scientific Assistant, candidates require a first-class B.Sc. in Chemistry along with the prescribed relevant experience. Engineering Assistant applicants require a first-class three-year diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering/Technology and the specified experience.

For Technician Grade 1, an applicable ITI trade certificate in Electrical or Mechanical is required. Technical Attendant Grade 1 applicants must have passed matriculation or an equivalent examination, with a two-year ITI certificate in Electrical or Mechanical listed as desirable.

For Assistant Grade II, candidates need a first-class degree such as BA, B.Sc., B.Com, BBA, BBM or BCA along with the prescribed NIELIT Basic Computer Course (BCC) Grade-B certificate. The MTS Grade 1 posts are reserved for Ex-servicemen.

The age limits differ by post, ranging from 25 to 35 years, and the cut-off date for age, qualifications and other eligibility requirements is October 12, 2026. Applicable relaxation will be provided according to government rules.

The pay scale depends on the post and follows the 7th Central Pay Commission structure.

CPRI Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection procedure differs according to the post. Engineering Officer Grade 1 recruitment is based on the applicable GATE score, while Engineering Assistant and Scientific Assistant candidates will undergo a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a job-specific practical skill test.

For Technician Grade 1, the process comprises a CBT and qualifying Trade Test. Technical Attendant Grade 1 and Assistant Grade II candidates are selected through the CBT, while MTS Grade 1 candidates will face the CBT followed by a Trade/Proficiency Test.

CPRI Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

The application fee is ₹1,000 per post for Engineering Officer Grade 1, Scientific Assistant and Engineering Assistant. Candidates applying for Technician Grade 1, Assistant Grade II and Technical Attendant Grade 1 have to pay ₹700 per post. Eligible SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-servicemen and women candidates are exempted from the fee, subject to the recruitment conditions.

Candidates applying for more than one post must submit separate applications and pay the applicable fee separately.
