The government and Central Board of Secondary Education affiliated schools have celebrated Constitution Day on November 26.
As part of the celebration, the students on this occasion were made aware about the preamble of the constitution.
According to TOI reports, about 1,763 government schools had received directive from the state education department for celebrating the constitution day.
All government schools have been directed to celebrate the constitution the anniversary of the signing and adoption of the constitution by the constituent assembly. The schools had also conducted essay competitions and quizzes to mark the Constitution Day.
A circular had also been issued by CBSE for the celebrating the Constitution Day in the affiliated schools. "India is governed in terms of the Constitution of India which was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949 and came into force on January 26 in 1950. Schools honour our democracy by celebrating November 26, 2015 as the Constitution Day," said the circular.
The CBSE schools celebrated the day in the morning assembly where school head addressed students briefly about the significance of celebrating the Constitution Day. The head also lead the school in taking the pledge by reciting the preamble of the constitution.
A poster making competition was also organised in schools for the students of Class 6 to 8 to illustrate the message contained in the Preamble.
