The schedule for the Common Admission Test 2024 (CAT 2024) has been officially released. The application process is set to begin on August 2 at 10 am and will close on September 13 at 5 pm. The exam will take place on November 24 in a computer-based test (CBT) format. Interested candidates can apply through the official website, iimcat.ac.in. Results are expected to be announced in the second week of January 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for CAT 2024, candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA. For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories, the minimum requirement is 45%. Candidates in their final year of a Bachelor's degree or those awaiting results can also apply but must provide a certificate from their institution if selected.

SC, ST, and PwD candidates: Rs 1,250
All other candidates: Rs 2,500

Importance of CAT

The Common Admission Test is essential for admission to various postgraduate and Fellow/Doctorate programs at the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). The percentage of marks obtained by candidates will be calculated according to their respective university's method. If grades or CGPA are awarded instead of marks, conversion to a percentage will follow the university's specified procedure. If no conversion scheme exists, CGPA will be divided by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplied by 100 to determine the equivalent percentage.
