The Karnataka government has decided to reopen colleges from July 26, 2021, and only those students, teachers, and other staff who have been vaccinated will be allowed to attend the classes. The government is yet to issue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines regarding the same. Higher educational institutions will reopen in partial or full stage, keeping the Covid-19 safety standards in place.
According to an ANI tweet, CM BS Yediyurappa held a meeting with ministers after which the decision was made.
65 Percent Students Vaccinated Till Now
On July 16, 2021, the Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister CN Ashwathnarayan stated that a date for the resumption of degree classes would be set within 2-3 days. He went on to say that 65 percent of students in government, government-aided, and private institutions have received vaccinations.
Contact Classes For Students
CM Ashwathnarayan also mentioned that students taking degree course exams will benefit from contact classes. These classes are available to students for any explanations or doubts they may have while they prepare for their exams.

Practical Exam Dates For Odd And Even Semester Diploma Courses Released
On July 16, the Deputy CM also announced the dates for practical exams for odd and even semester diploma courses.
The odd semester practical exams will be conducted from July 26 to 28, 2021, while the remaining subjects' theory exams will take place from August 2 to 21, 2021.
The theory examinations would be conducted from November 17, 2021, to December 6, 2021, and the even semester practical exams would be held from November 2 to 12, 2021.
Medical And Dental Colleges Reopening
On Friday, the Karnataka government announced that all medical and dentistry colleges would reopen with immediate effect. However, there is no word on when the schools will reopen in the state.
