CLAT 2025 Exam date announced; Check details here

The Consortium of National Law Universities has announced the examination date for CLAT 2025. The official notice regarding the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) exam dates can be accessed on consortiumofnlus.ac.in, the official website of CLAT. The CLAT 2025 examination is scheduled for December 1, 2024, and will be conducted in a single shift from 2 pm to 4 pm.

The online registration is anticipated to commence in July. Some media reports suggest that the registration window will open in the first week of July; however, there is no official confirmation yet.

CLAT is an annual entrance examination conducted for admission to 5-year LLB and LLM programmes at 24 participating national law universities. It serves as a gateway for admission to prestigious law schools such as NALSAR Hyderabad, NLSIU Bangalore, NLU Jodhpur, and WBNUJS Kolkata.

Steps to apply for CLAT registration

  • Visit the official website of CLAT at consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
  • Navigate to the registration link on the homepage.
  • Enter the required details.
  • Click on 'Submit'.
  • Log in to your account.
  • Fill out the application form.
  • Pay the necessary application fee.
  • Click on 'Submit'.
  • Download the application form for future reference.

Application fee

For CLAT 2025, students from the General Category need to pay an application fee of INR 4,000, while students from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Below Poverty Line (BPL) categories need to pay INR 3,500 as the application fee.

Cutoff marks

The Consortium of NLUs will release the CLAT 2025 cutoff marks for all participating National Law Universities after each round of counseling. These cutoff marks will be released separately for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) courses, as well as for each category (Open, PwD, SC, ST, OBC). The CLAT cutoff serves as the minimum score/rank for admission, indicating that candidates scoring below the cutoff may not secure admission to their preferred law colleges.
