Kolkata, December 2015: CIMA - Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, founded in 1919 is the world's largest professional body of management accountants with operation in 179 countries. CIMA has announced a tie up with Seacom Skills University located in West Bengal, to integrate the CIMA curriculum and course along with the various management courses offered by Seacom Skills University. Established in 2014, Seacom Skills University is one of the first Skills centric university to be established in the country.
Speaking about the tie-up with Seacom Skills University, Debasish Biswas, Country Head, CIMA India, said, "Globally, there is a growing demand of professional skills that management accountants bring to organizations with the unique balance of accounting and business knowledge they have. We are happy to offer the CIMA qualification to students of Seacom Skills University to help their students develop analytical, application oriented, decision making skills, rather than just theoretical knowledge of business and finance. We believe this partnership is an important milestone for CIMA as we expand our association in eastern India."
The MOU was signed by Debasish Biswas and Anish Chakraborty, Chairman, Seacom Group, in the presence of distinguished luminaries from industry and academia.
CIMA India has embarked on aggressive expansion across the country, and now has three full-fledged offices located in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore - working in collaboration and partnership with key universities, schools and colleges, top multinationals and blue-chip Indian companies, industry bodies, high commissions, consulates and government departments.
